Kamuela Kahoano is an American singer, songwriter, painter, visual artist, and music producer.
He is the son of Lynette and Kimo Kahoano, a Polynesian fire knife dancer, actor, singer, DJ, and emcee. He is the brother of singer Ikaika Kahoano. Kamuela was raised in the Kapahulu neighborhood, near Waikiki.
Kamuela’s paternal grandfather was James Halolena Kahoano (the son of Samuel/Sam Mana Kahoano and Mary Malia Kalama). James was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was Native Hawaiian. Samuel was the son of James Kahoano and Kaui Kahoano. Mary was the daughter of Albert Kaina Kalama and Malia Kananimauloa/Kanani Poe.
Kamuela’s paternal grandmother was Mary Elinore Meyers (the daughter of George Washington Meyers and Estella Ann “Stella” Deweese). Mary had Dutch, English, German, and some Irish, roots.
