J.T. Realmuto is an American professional baseball player. He is a catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball.

His father played college baseball, for Southwest Missouri State. His maternal uncles are folkstyle and freestyle wrestler and coach John Smith and collegiate wrestler Pat Smith. J. T. is married to Alexis, with whom he has two children.

J. T.’s paternal grandfather was Jesse Junior Realmuto (the son of Salvatore Phillip Realmuto and Lucy Jane Snyder). Salvatore was born in New York, to Italian Sicilian parents. Lucy was the daughter of James Albert Snyder and Lucinda Ellen Kimbrough.

J. T.’s paternal grandmother was Gracie Horton (the daughter of James Jacob Horton and Ivy Mae Frost). James was the son of John Tolbert Horton and Mary Emeline Padgett. Ivy was the daughter of Otho Francis Frost and Susan Eleanor Wells.

J. T.’s maternal grandfather was Lee Roy Smith, Jr. (the son of Lee Roy Smith and Beatrice Mae Williams). J. T.’s great-grandfather Lee Roy was the son of Dan B. Smith and Rachel Emily Cannon. Beatrice was the daughter of John Andrew Williams and Bertha Mae Oden.

J. T.’s maternal grandmother is Madalene Volturo (the daughter of Daniel James Volturo and Margaret Cecilia Venters). Daniel was born in Oklahoma, to Italian parents, Angelo Volturo and Rosa Rocca Giorgio. Margaret was born in Oklahoma, also to Italian parents, Angelo Raphael Duca Venters/Ventre/DiVentre, who was born in San Gregorio Magno, Salerno, Campania, and Isabella Calabrese.
