Gunnar Hansen was an American actor and author. He starred as Leatherface in the film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974). He also appeared in Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Campfire Tales, Mosquito, Murder-Set-Pieces, Swarm of the Snakehead, Reykjavík Whale Watching Massacre, and Death House (2017), the latter of which he also co-wrote.

He was born in Reykjavík, the son of Sigrid Eva Saetersmoen and Skúli Eggert Hansen, a dentist. He moved to the U.S. with his mother when he was five, living in Maine, and then in Austin, Texas.
