Gracie Abrams is an American singer and songwriter.

She is the daughter of J. J. Abrams (Jeffrey Jacob Abrams), a director, producer, screenwriter, and composer, and Katie McGrath, a public relations executive and producer. She has two brothers, comic book writer Henry Abrams, who is older, and August, who is younger. Her aunt is screenwriter Tracy Rosen. Her father’s family is Jewish, while her mother’s background is Irish Catholic.

Gracie’s paternal grandfather is Gerald W. Abrams (the son of Samuel David Abrams and Lillian/Lilian Kodish). Gerald was born in Pennsylvania, and was a television producer, who worked at CBS, and on many made-for-tv movies. Samuel was born in Łomża, Poland, the son of Harry Abrams and Fanny. Lillian was born in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jacob Elwood Kodish, who was born in Latgale, Latvia, and of Fanny Clompus, who was born in Palanga, Lithuania.

Gracie’s paternal grandmother was Carol Ann Abrams (née Kelvin, the daughter of Harry Kelvin and Leonore/Lee Schor). Carol was born in New York, and was a television and film producer, and author and law academic. Leonore was the daughter of Samuel Schor and Tillie Sonnenbloom, who was born in Horodenka, Ukraine.

Gracie’s maternal grandfather was James Harold McGrath, Jr. (the son of James Harold McGrath and Dorothea Anne Madigan). Gracie’s grandfather James was born in Massachusetts. Gracie’s great-grandfather James was the son of John Ambrose McGrath, who was born in Maine, to an Irish father and a Canadian mother; and of Catherine J. Smith, whose parents were also Irish. Dorothea was the daughter of John Joseph Madigan, whose father was of Irish descent, and whose mother was Irish; and of Elizabeth Veronica Martin, whose parents were Irish.
