Fresh Kid Ice was an American rapper. He was a member of hip-hop group 2 Live Crew. He is considered to be the first prominent rapper of Asian descent. He also used the rap name “The Chinaman.”

Fresh Kid was the son of Olive Coffee and Lawrence Wong Won. They were Trinidad and Tobago natives, who were both of African and Chinese descent. In 1976, his family moved to Brooklyn, New York City, New York, U.S. He had four children.

Fresh Kid’s paternal grandfather was named Horace Wong Won. Horace was born in Guangzhou, China, and emigrated to Trinidad and Tobago. A photo of Horace can be seen here.
