Genetic analysis has shown Ashkenazi Jews are NOT, I repeat NOT, of Khazarian heritage. Ashkenazi Jews are generally middle eastern – European intermediates. See here:

“Results: We find that the Jewish populations show a high level of genetic similarity to each other, clustering together in several types of analysis of population structure. Further, [statistical analyses] place the Jewish populations as intermediate between the non-Jewish Middle Eastern and European populations. Conclusion: These results support the view that the Jewish populations largely share a common Middle Eastern ancestry and that over their history they have undergone varying degrees of admixture with non-Jewish populations of European descent.”

Still holds true to this day, yet people (mainly on internet forums) love to slander Ashkenazi Jews as Slavic and/or Khazar converts. Population geneticists have made it very clear that’s not the case.

      • andrew says:

Not internet forums. There are dozens of Jewish authors/scholars, going back to 19th century that have questioned the Levantine origin of AJ.

        • jackson9 says:

These “authors/scholars” are anti-Zionist shills. AJ have a connection to Judea and Samaria like all others Jews. Kinda sad how anti-Israel/Semitic my Irish brothers and sisters have became.

          • passingtime85 says:

Well those anti-zionist Jews believe then, as they believe now, there should beno state of Israel without the messiah. Plus for the last 2500 years, give or take a few centuries “Jewishness” has been passed along the maternal line, since the fall of the second temple probably. Which means upward of 80% of AJs are not Jewish according to halakha law. These discrepancies and questions have been around for a centuries. Karaites still prefer to go with paternal heritage that is described in the first 5 books of the Hebrew Bible, rather than the later editions with rabbinical interpretation.

          • jackson9 says:

These anti-Zionist Jewish sects are protesting with the same Palestinian groups that don’t just want Israel wiped off the map but want all Jews dead and October 7th repeated over and over again. If people went around wishing Ireland was wiped off the map or America no I would not consider them my friend.

Just stating facts, nationalism, mixed with religion, and tribalism brews intense turbulence, actions, and behavior that don’t make a whole lot of sense.

        • l!ttletimmy says:

The Khazar/Slavic theory of Ashkenazi origins is championed on various forums.

Oh, and the views of 19th century scholars you refer to, many of whom held pseudoscientific views, should not be valued over population and medical geneticists who have come to refute those archaic claims.

many Jewish surname looks German, like Klaus.

  3. Rossa Pendergast says:

Ashkenazi, what makes them look different from Western European for examples is 2 things: (a) many of them descendant from Khazars which in themselves are European, although very Eastern European. And (b) inbreeding. Rabbis in Europe started to spead the message telling Jews to stop intermarrying with locals, and hence massive inbreeding started a few hundred years ago.

    • wtf says:

      @ Rossa

I’m no expert on this, but aren’t Khazars converts?

      • Me! says:

who are White just like Rossa said.. all.. OK not all but most like 80% or 87% or even more of all Jews around the world are White and Ashkenazi..! (the same just the name of Whites in Jewish xD)

    • l!ttletimmy says:

I suppose I’m speaking to a brick wall here since you commented over a decade ago. I will still debunk you.

The word is endogamy, not inbreeding. Jews did that because Europeans were quite hostile to them for most of modern history. The exception was Poles which is why Ashkenazi have a significant amount of Polish blood (around 10%). Besides that, everything you said is false, the Khazars were a non-European Turkic people from modern Siberia. They were not ethnic Slavs. I am in utter disbelief the mods allow your nauseating racist ——- to stay on the site. I hope you have learned better after all these years.

many Jewish surnames do sound or are German. e.g. Zimmerman, schwartz, weiss

  5. Anonymous says:

Schwimmer is apparently a German surname.
