Bérénice Bejo is an Argentinian-born French actress. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Artist (2011).
She is the daughter of Silvia de Paoli, a lawyer, and Miguel Bejo, a filmmaker. When she was three, her family moved to France, escaping from the Argentine Dirty War. Bérénice is married to French director Michel Hazanavicius, with whom she has two children. Michel directed The Artist. She is a citizen of Argentina and France.
