Bailey’s maternal grandfather was William Lynn Bailey (the son of William Woodrow Bailey and Opal Ferguson). Bailey’s great-grandfather William was the son of William Elmer Bailey and Myrtle Iva “Ivy” Cates. Opal was the daughter of Roy Vernon Ferguson and Mahala Ann “Hala” Barnard.

Bailey’s maternal grandmother is named Sandra Sue Fowler.
