Al Gore is an American politician, advocate, philanthropist, and environmentalist. A Democrat, he served as the 45th Vice President of the United States, from January 20, 1993, to January 20, 2001, under President Bill Clinton. He was elected to the position in 1992 and 1996. He was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Tennessee, from January 3, 1977 to January 3, 1985, and a U.S. Senator from Tennessee, from January 3, 1985 to January 2, 1993. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2007, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
He was the Democratic Party’s nominee for President of the United States in 2000, when he won the popular vote, but not the electoral vote. He was also a candidate for the Democratic Party’s 1988 presidential nomination.
Vice President Gore is the son of Pauline (LaFon) and Albert Allen Gore. His father was a Democratic politician, who served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Tennessee, from January 3, 1939 to January 3, 1953, and a U.S. Senator from Tennessee, from January 3, 1953 to January 3, 1971. Vice President Gore is married to Tipper Gore (born Mary Elizabeth Aitcheson), with whom he has four children, including journalist and author Karenna Gore and author and screenwriter Kristin Gore. Tipper’s first cousin, once removed, is actor and comedian Zach Cregger.

I suppose he might have French ancestry, but have any of his family lines been traced back to France? Some English people have “La” names for whatever reason.
The problem is that side of the family doesn’t go to the time before living in the U.S.A. But there is another side but that does go very far back

LaFon, Al Gore’s mother’s maiden name, is a very distinctly French name. According to warg.com the earliest of the LaFon’s were in the United States but many of them originated from France.
Oh btw Al Gore is a descendant of a Russian Princess named Erzsebet of Galicia. Born in 1212 in Galicia, Poland. Died 1239 in Ukraine according to geni.com.

I don’t know if it’s accurate, but 952AD? Isn’t that kind of far? I imagine most Europeans are descended from Azariah then, probably all of them.
