He was born in Casablanca, Morocco, to a French family. In 1969, they moved to La Londe-les-Maures, near the Côte d’Azur, France. He has two children with his former wife Stéphanie.
Richard’s maternal grandmother was the daughter of parents from Côtes-d’Armor, Brittany, France, Yves Marie Kereveur and Gabrielle Marie Augustine Calvez. Yves was born in Langoat, the son of Yves Marie Mathurin Kereveur and Marie Yvonne Tanguy. Gabrielle was born in Lannion.
