Masoud Pezeshkian is an Iranian politician and heart surgeon. He has been President of Iran, since 28 July, 2024. He has also been Minister of Health and Medical Education, from 22 August, 2001 to 24 August, 2005, and a Member of the Parliament of Iran, since 27 May, 2008, of which he was First Deputy Speaker.

He was married to his wife, a gynecologist, until her death. The couple had four children.
