Mark’s great-grandfather Leo was born in New York, the son of French-Canadian parents from Québec, Alexander A. Vallee and Eleanor Coyette/Guyette. Bernadette was born in New York, the daughter of Israel Gamache and Sophie Sebolette.

Mark’s paternal grandmother was Margaret S. Mallette (the daughter of Nelson Frances Mallette and Helen Sears). Margaret was born in New York.
