Bryan Ferry is an English singer and songwriter. He is known as the lead vocalist for the band Roxy Music, and for his solo career.

Bryan is the son of Mary and Fred Ferry, a farm labourer, who looked after pit ponies. He has four children with his former wife, late socialite Lucy Helmore.

Bryan’s paternal grandfather was Alfred Ferry (the son of Henry Ferry and Hannah Hodgson). Henry was the son of John Ferry and Isabel. Hannah was the daughter of John Hodgson and Margaret.

Bryan’s paternal grandmother was Arabella Evaline/Eveline Ilsley (the daughter of Edwin Ilsley and Alice Alderson). Arabella was born in Madras, India, to English parents, her father from Reading, Berkshire, and her mother from Shincliffe, Dunham. Edwin was the son of Francis Ilsley and Susannah Abraham.

Bryan’s maternal grandfather was named Frederick James Armstrong.

Bryan’s maternal grandmother was named Ethel Moon.

    He appears to be about 1/16th Jewish. Bryan’s great-great-grandmother, Susanna Abraham, was born in 1795 in Holborn, Middlesex to Simon and Mary Abraham. While I can’t say for certain, these names are characteristically Jewish.
