Michel Temer is a Brazilian lawyer and politician. He served as President of Brazil, from 31 August, 2016 to 1 January, 2019. He has also been President of the Chamber of Deputies, from 2 February, 1997 to 14 February, 2001, President of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party, from 9 September, 2001 to 5 April, 2016, and again from 2 February, 2009 to 17 December, 2010, and Vice President of Brazil, from 1 January, 2011 to 31 August, 2016.
His parents, Miguel Elias Temer Lulia and March Barbar Lulia, were Maronite Lebanese emigrants, from Btaaboura, Koura District. He is married to Marcela Temer (born Marcela Tedeschi Araujo). He has three children with his former wife, Maria Célia de Toledo; a son with journalist Érica Ferraz; and a son with Marcela.
