DMX was an American rapper, songwriter, and actor. He is known for his albums “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot” and “And Then There Was X,” and his film roles in Belly, Exit Wounds, and Cradle 2 the Grave. He was also known as Dark Man X, X, and Divine Master of the Unknown.

DMX was the son of mother Arnett Simmons and father Joe Barker, who were teenagers at the time of his birth. He was raised in Yonkers, and grew up in the Jehovah’s Witness faith. DMX was said to have had seventeen children, including four with his former wife Tashera Simmons; a daughter with Patricia Trejo; a son with Monique Wayne; two children with Yadira Borrego; one child with his fiancée Desiree Lindstrom; and two children with Pebbles Junell.

DMX was a devout born-again Christian. He was a transitional deacon.
