Gavin Casalegno is an American actor and model. He is known for his roles in the films Noah, When the Game Stands Tall, and The Unhealer, and on the shows The Vampire Diaries and The Summer I Turned Pretty.

His sister, Ashlyn Casalegno, is also an actress. He is a Christian.

Gavin’s paternal grandfather is Phillip A. Casalegno (the son of Lorenzo Giuseppe “Joseph” Casalegno and Florence McGowan). Lorenzo was born in California, to parents from Piedmont, Italy, Giovanni Felice Casalegno and Carolina/Maria Domenica Garbero. Gavin has said that his Italian ancestry is from Primeglio, Passerano Marmorito, province of Asti, Piedmont. Gavin’s great-grandmother Florence was born in California, the daughter of William Henry McGowan/McGowen and Hannah Hunt, who was English.

Gavin’s paternal grandmother is named Donna M. Cale.

Gavin’s maternal grandfather is Howard Michael Fannin (the son of Eldridge Campbell Fannin and Opal Mae Tackett). Eldridge was the son of William Ernest Fannin and Julia Elizabeth Shawhan. Opal was born in Kentucky, the daughter of James Leslie Tackett and Florence Cline.

Gavin’s maternal grandmother is named Patricia Strohl.
