He is part (or descendant) of the White European immigrants, I am from Bolivia (a 75+% indigenous country) but my grandpa was german, so what, we don’t even care, we just know that there’s indigenous, blacks, hyper-whites and whites/spanish … but we don’t over-think about race like people do in United States.

Cheers!

there were many Many MANY waves of migration from europe to mexico. there have been germans, japanese, chinese, french, italian, jewish, escaped african slaves, and the list goes on and on.

my family (mexican) ranges from almost completely indigenous to blonde hair and blue eyed devils. so, we run the gambit. we (like most of america) are truly a mutt culture.

my ancestral home in durango, mex even has a large mennonite community. they live in amish communities and mainly keep to themselves, so they are VERY germanic looking.

BTW they are renowned for their artisan cheeses, a little chorizo folded into they queso is so YUM!

The railroads of the southwestern U.S. and Mexico had mostly Irish workers, (followed in numbers by Chinese workers). Certain regions of Mexico had fairly large numbers of Irish settle within. Mutual Catholicism and a generally non-snobbish nature of these Irish (among other factors, likely) made for a surprisingly smooth integration into the various societies. Look at Danny “Little Red” Lopez and Saul Alvarez and your probably seeing remnant traits from these Irish.
Not sure this is Carlos’ situation though. A previous blogger mentioned Mexican/Irish/French. His mothers maiden name sure sounds French, and his fathers first name is Brian-pretty Irish.
Here’s to Carlos-whatever his heritage-taking it to the next and highest level.

Mexico like the US is very diverse. Yeah it was conquered by the Spanish but there are also asians African and middle eastern people that settled in Mexico. That’s why Mexicans look different and have different surnames.

well he can pasa in México easily. Many mexicans look like Mexixan. The problem is that you only know a “type” of mexican.

He looks like Johnny Depp, who has an Indian(Native) and European ancestry. Like 60% percent of Mexicans who are bi-racial, Native/European, better known as Mestizos.

marjanel October 6, 2015 at 11:10 am

Not all Mexicans hace Spnish last name

ice man April 3, 2009 at 1:29 am

He looks spaniard american not mexican. Mexicans look pretty indigenous due to there ancestors. The traditional mexicans resemble there native american roots but there are mexicans in mexico that look spaniard. I am spaniard american myself. Anglos might mistake this guy for for italian american because they dont know any better. He looks pretty tough and enjoys boxing which shows that he has a strong drive. I hope he succeeds in like with his whole boxing proffession. It seems from his pose thats what hes in to.
