Aaron Paul is an American actor and producer. His roles include the shows Breaking Bad, BoJack Horseman, The Path, and Westworld, and the films Whatever It Takes, Choking Man, The Last House on the Left (2009), Smashed, Decoding Annie Parker, Need for Speed, A Long Way Down, Hellion, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Eye in the Sky, Triple 9, Central Intelligence, Come and Find Me, American Woman, Welcome Home, The Parts You Lose, Adam, and Dual.
He is the son of Darla and The Rev. Robert Sturtevant, a Baptist minister. He has English, as well as Scottish and German, ancestry. Many of his family lines have been in the U.S. since the 1600s. Aaron is married to activist, actress, and director Lauren Parsekian, with whom he has two children.
Aaron’s patrilineal line traces to Samuel Sturtevant, who was born, c. 1621, in Rochester, Kent, England.
Aaron’s paternal grandfather was Leon Robert Sturtevant, Jr. (the son of The Rev. Leon Robert Sturtevant and Ethel M. Walker). Aaron’s grandfather Leon was born in Mitchell, Davison, South Dakota. Aaron’s great-grandfather The Rev. Leon was a Protestant minister, and was the son of Joel Benton Sturtevant, whose maternal grandparents were Canadian, and of Margaret Annabelle/Anna/Annie Crane. Ethel was the daughter of Fergus/Furguson Eli Walker and Iva Pearle Foote.
Aaron’s paternal grandmother was Verna Lee Webb (the daughter of Glen/Glenn Howard Webb and Edna Viola McGinnis). Verna was born in Valley, Stevens, Washington. Glen was the son of Charles M. Webb and Mary Catharine Hockensmith/Hockinsmith/Hockensville. Edna was the daughter of Andrew W. McGinnis and Caroline Henderson.
Aaron’s maternal grandfather was Ennis/Barney Allen Haynes (the son of Alva Haynes and Kanona K. “Nona” Small). Ennis was born in Oberlin, Decatur, Kansas. Alva was the son of Alexander Haynes and Mary Elizabeth Blackwell. Kanona was the daughter of James H. Small and Jennie/Jane Parthena Havens.
