Taís Araújo is a Brazilian actress, television host, and model.

Taís is the daughter of Mercedes de Araújo, an educationalist, and Ademir de Araújo, an economist. Her cousin is actor and singer Marcello Melo, Jr. She was raised partly in Méier, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, and Barra da Tijuca.

Taís has said:

My mother is dark skinned black, my father is the son of a light skinned black man and an Austrian woman. You look at my father, and he is very white, full of freckles, fat nose… But he is very mixed.

She is married to actor, television presenter, director, and writer Lázaro Ramos, with whom she has two children.

    She is beautiful. She has African ancestry but her name is Galician or Portuguese so she must have one of these ancestries as well?

      Well she is Brazilian,so she most likely does have that heritage.However it’s not necessary for her to have said heritage to get a name like that.I don’t know what your background is,but when it comes to black people,they often adopt the names to fit into that culture.The black people in the U.S took or were given English names(or german, french etc).So the blacks in latin America,took latin names(many were baptized and given latin names(by the Spaniards and the Portuguese),other adopted names later .My grandfather took an English name when he came to the states,just to fit in(although he couldn’t change his latin accent as easy)

      Taís is not an uncommon name in Brazil.
