Sigtryggur Baldursson is an Icelandic musician. He is known as the drummer for the Icelandic alternative rock band The Sugarcubes. Other members of the band were Einar Örn Benediktsson and Bragi Ólafsson.

Sigtryggur is the son of Baldur G. Bjarnasen and Halla Sigtryggsdóttir. He is married to biochemist Sigrún Hrafnsdóttir.

Sigtryggur’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his third great-grandfather, Jóhann Bjarnasen (9 February 1808 – 18 July 1845).

Sigtryggur’s paternal grandfather was Óskar Antonsson Bjarnasen (the son of Anton Gísli Emil Pétursson Bjarnasen and Sigríður Guðmundsdóttir). Anton was the son of Jóhann Pétur Benedikt Jóhannsson Bjarnasen, and of Greenlandic immigrant Johanne Caroline Hansdóttir Rasmussen, of Nuuk, whose parents were Danish immigrants, both from Copenhagen. Sigríður was the daughter of Guðmundur Johnsen and Guðrún Hjaltested.

Sigtryggur’s paternal grandmother was Rannveig Jóhanna Helgadóttir (the daughter of Helgi Guðmundsson and Þóra Jónsdóttir). Helgi was the son of Guðmundur Helgason and Margrét Eiríksdóttir. Þóra was the daughter of Jón Ögmundsson and Rannveig Björnsdóttir.

Sigtryggur’s maternal grandfather was Sigtryggur Eiríksson (the son of Eiríkur Magnússon and Hallbera Bernhöft Vilhjálmsdóttir). Eiríkur was the son of Magnús Sigurðarson and Guðrún Eiríksdóttir. Hallbera was the daughter of Danish immigrant Wilhelm Georg Theodor Bernhoft, of Copenhagen, and of Sigríður Sigurðardóttir.

Sigtryggur’s maternal grandmother was Vilhelmína Þórdís Vilhjálmsdóttir (the daughter of Vilhjálmur Vigfússon and Þórdís Þorsteinsdottir). Vilhjálmur was the son of Vigfús Höskuldsson and Sigríður Vigfúsdóttir. Sigtryggur’s great-grandmother Þórdís was the daughter of Þorsteinn Þorsteinsson and Ingigerður Eiríksdóttir.

Sigtryggur’s matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his seventh great-grandmother, Oddný Ingimundardóttir.
