Sergei Bodrov is a Russian film director, screenwriter, and producer. He has directed the films Freedom Is Paradise, Katala, Prisoner of the Mountains, Running Free (2000), Nomad (2005), Mongol (2007), Seventh Son, and Breathe Easy. He has co-written many of his films.

His son was actor Sergei Bodrov, Jr. His granddaughter is actress Olga Bodrova. Sergei is married to American film consultant Carolyn Cavallaro.

Sergei’s paternal grandmother was a Buryat. The rest of his family is likely Russian.
