Ruben Östlund is a Swedish filmmaker. He has written and directed the films The Guitar Mongoloid, Involuntary, Play, Force Majeure, The Square, and Triangle of Sadness. He was nominated for Academy Awards for his writing and direction for the latter film.
He is the son of Catarina and Claes-Göran Östlund. He has two children with his former wife, co-director Andrea Östlund; and a son with his partner, fashion photographer Sina Görcz.
