I’m just light-skinned and from Baltimore… My mother’s from North Carolina and she has green eyes and freckles. So, I’m sure there’s a whole lot of white and Native-American mixed-in there. But I’m only claiming African-American, because that’s really what I know.

She isn’t biracial. She did a DNA test. She’s 70% Sub-Saharan African and 30% European on ancestrydna, her husband was 50/50 African and European. She said this in her podcast.

I guess. If you are defining biracial as having a fully white or non-African descent parent.

      • Ethnicity37 says:

Yes. In the USA, the term “biracial” means one parent is one race and the other is another. That definition is very distinct. Nicole’s parents are both black. The other definition of “biracial” would define almost ALL generational African Americans and many other Americans’- that definition is useless because almost everyone would be biracial.

I go with what my eyes tell me. I dont see a black woman. I just see a mixed race woman. Her features are too questionable to be all the way black. I dont understand people who insist that sub saharan africans can have light eyes and pale skin. This is a hard pill for many to swallow but light eyes (especially blue and green) and blonde hair are only european traits. Sub Saharan Africans and East Asians do not have those physical traits at least not naturally or without admixture.

Her mother’s name is Susan Regina and she was born on September 22, 1943 in NC. There’s a Susan Regina McDaniel from Burke, NC that fits the bill.

    Fact check:
She is biracial and heavily admixed with Caucasian ancestry.

No. she is NOT biracial. Both her parents are Black.

These people accuse African Americans of practicing the one-drop rule but are essentialist in their thinking and follow blood-quantum. They refuse to accept that African Americans don’t actually use either system and define race by history rather than by percentages.

        • fatkat says:

Doesn’t change the fact that she is mixed. Period.

          • stuckinfoopid says:

African American is a real ethnicity that exists. Mixed isn’t a race, ethnicity, or nationality. Mixing isn’t some kind of property that you can own and get to act jealous over.

          • Ethnicity37 says:

Mostly ALL generational AFRAM are mixed. Are you going to call Whoopi Goldberg or Don Cheadle mixed? I doubt it. Nicole is no different than other generation AFRAM people.
