Mart Laar is an Estonian politician and historian. He served as Prime Minister of Estonia, from 21 October 1992 to 8 November, 1994 and from 25 March, 1999 to 28 January, 2002, as well as Minister of Defence, from 6 April, 2011 to 11 May, 2012.

He is the son of Aime and Tõnis Laar. He is married to Katrin Kask.

Mart’s maternal grandfather was named Artur Võlli.

Mart’s maternal grandmother was named Armilde Tamm.
