Mark Zuckerberg is an American computer programmer, Internet entrepreneur, businessperson, and philanthropist. He is one of the founders of Facebook, along with Eduardo Saverin. Mark is usually ranked as one of the top 10 richest people in the U.S. He was Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for 2010. He is nicknamed “Zuck.”
Mark is the son of Karen, a psychiatrist, and Edward Zuckerberg, a dentist. He is the brother of businessperson Randi Zuckerberg and classicist, feminist, and writer Donna Zuckerberg. His family is Jewish, from Austria, Hungary, Poland, and Germany. He was raised in Reform Judaism, and had a Bar Mitzvah ceremony.
Mark is married to pediatrician and philanthropist Priscilla Chan, who is of Chinese descent. The couple has three children.
He was played by Jesse Eisenberg in the film The Social Network (2010).
Mark’s paternal grandfather is Jack Zuckerberg (the son of Max Zuckerberg and Minnie Wiesenthal). Jack was born in New York. There are 2 main ethnic groups when it comes to Jews. Ashkenazi Jews and Sephardic Jews.
Sephardic Jews were expelled during the Spanish Inquisition, and now, many of them live in Morocco (like Emmanuelle Chriqui’s parents). Their language is Ladino, which could be described as Juedo-Spanish.
Ashkenazi Jews is the name for ethnic Jews in Europe.
Ashkenazi Jews are Caucasian. They are of a separate ethnicity much in the same way Albanians are separate from the Irish, or the Ukrainians are separate from the Italians. However, they are all Caucasian.
