Leonor, Princess of Asturias is the heiress presumptive to the Spanish throne. She is the eldest daughter of Felipe VI, who has been King of Spain, since 19 June, 2014, and Queen Letizia of Spain. Her father is head of state and commander-in-chief of the Spanish Armed Forces, and has the military rank Captain General; he was born to a European Royal family. Princess Leonor’s great-grandfather José was the son of José Ortiz Pool and Carmen Velasco Gutiérrez. María was a radio broadcaster in Asturias for over forty years. Princess Leonor’s maternal grandmother is María Paloma Rocasolano Rodríguez, a nurse and union representative (the daughter of Francisco Julio Rocasolano Camacho and Enriqueta Rodríguez Figarredo/Figueredo). María was born in Madrid, Spain. Francisco was the son of Miguel Rocasolano y Cebrián and María Camacho Rodríguez. Enriqueta was the daughter of Enrique Rodríguez, who was born in the Philippines, to Spanish parents; and of María Paloma Figueredo, who was born in Oviedo, Asturias, Principado de Asturias.
