Kirsten’s paternal grandfather was Duane Archie “Dewey” Olson (the son of Archie Benjamin Olson and Carrie Anderson). Dewey was born in Minnesota. Archie was the son of Swedish emigrants, Charles Peter Olson, from Bjurjarn, and Maria Theresia Olsson, from Karlskoga, Örebro. Carrie was born in Minnesota, also to Swedish parents.

Kirsten’s paternal grandmother was Charlotte Marie Schram (the daughter of Carl Frederick Schram and Katherine/Kathryn A. Dillon). Charlotte was born in Minnesota. Carl was the son of Icelandic immigrants, Christian/Christos Gunther Schram and Margret P. Hjaltestad. Katherine was born in Iowa, to Irish parents.
