Kirby Dick is an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor.

He is married to actress and writer Rita Valencia.

Kirby’s paternal grandfather was Jacob Dick (the son of Peter P. Dick/Dyck and Maria Goossen). Jacob was born in Minnesota, to parents from Ukraine/Russia, who were Russian Mennonites, of German and some Dutch descent. Peter was the son of Peter J. Dueck and Anna Hooge. Maria was the daughter of Jacob D. Goossen/Goosen and Maria Voth.

Kirby’s paternal grandmother was Justina Heier (the daughter of Andreas Karl “Andrew” Heier and Anna Quiring). Justina was born in Minnesota, also to ethnic German parents, who were from Poland/Russia. Andreas was the son of Karl Heier and Helena Schmidt.

Kirby’s maternal grandfather was William Bryan Robison (the son of Edmund Brand Robison and Mary Jane Ramsay). William was born in Nevada. Edmund was born in Utah, the son of Peter Robison and Mary Ann Ashley, who was Welsh. Kirby’s great-grandmother Mary Jane was born in Utah, the daughter of Ezra Grant Ramsay and Prudence Ann Barkdull.

Kirby’s maternal grandmother was Sarah Ethel Neilson (the daughter of Phillip Hale Neilson and Bettie Jane Means). Sarah was born in Texas. Phillip was born in North Carolina, the son of Phillip Hale Neilson and Sarah Baddely Howorth, whose father was English. Bettie was born in Mississippi, the daughter of Benjamin Means and Calpurnia Jane Erwin.
