Come again?
Americans are taking that ‘One Drop’ rule way too far.
What do you mean?
@Kimmel your comment reflects, envy and hatred for Africans. African Americans are overwhelmingly usually 50 percent or more black African. That’s a heck of alot more than one drop.
Definitely multiracial – European, black and native.
Dude looks straight Indian.
I say mexican.

he obviously is more than African decent
Well he is an American black person, so him being more than just of African descent, isn’t that big of a surprise. However, his isn’t a first generation mix that’s for sure

Johnny Mathis Parents ethnicity: Mix race.
Mother – American Indian Atakapa of Choctaw Decent. Father – African/French Creole.
Thanks Andrew of course Fuzzybear get all defensive about pointing out Johnny’s other mix instead of black. Its seems some people can’t accept African and other mixtures. Some of these afro eccentric people are worse than the kkk, white supremacist. They all have a malady that needs curing.
@cwm85
Men you so far off. All I said was that he was not a first gen mix. You’re the one who got all defensive and went off on some crazy tantrum. My Father is of Choctaw and Louisiana Creole descent, and my mother is Louisiana Creole and Seminole ,so why would I hate on Johnny Mathis. You first gen are a little to touchy
@Andrew
That facebook page isn’t a good source. All the sites about his father says negro or mulatto and mom black. I’m not saying his mom wasn’t partially indian, Choctaw were know for their black members
yes anybody can write anything on facebook. I found this Johnny’s parents picture.

His dad looked like Giancarlo Esposito (from the side)
Yes I saw that pic doing my research, and you’re right his does look like Giancarlo(especially doing school daze). Something else I see in that pic atleast to me, is that the mom didn’t look full indian
even from these pics, I don’t see the black bloodline coming from just the father. I don’t see these kids as just 25% black:

Well all I was saying despite what some might want to believe, is that he is not a first gen mixs that’s all
his mom is certainly not full “Indian”.
Andrew that does not matter, all African Americans have some other ethnicity. I don’t know why that’s not hard for most people to comprehend. What makes people African American is the overwhelming MAJORITY of thier DNA is BLACK AFRICAN period. That’s why it’s not African but African American. Get over it.
@midori
Mr Mathis wasn’t publicly DNA tested so we can’t say how much African/European/Native American or what else he is, and if he’s over 50% SSA
Wrong. His mother was native american. And his dad was mixed. First generation mixed.
His mother was black, or at least part black.
Thank you follers
Oh, and Johnny’s paternal grandparents were both black, for sure. So I guess that’s not a “first generation” mix.
Again thank you. I don’t get it, you simply stated something that is supposed to be factual, and peole get mad
well, at some point anyboby with black blood was considered black, right?
@Andrew

(well, at some point anyboby with black blood was considered black, right?)
Well that’s true, but it often change from state to state, and decade. Well right now it’s the other way around So even if you do have black ancestry in you but look white, you’re said to be white. I mean no one going to call Craig Cobb black, even if he is part black(right?)
I don’t know Cobb’s family history but 14% SSA is huge, I mean in Puerto Rico or North Africa it would be possible but in North Dakota?? I am sceptic. Genetic does not seem an exact science, different genetic studies often say different things.
@cwm85 People don’t call themselves African American unless a huge significant majority of thier DNA is African
@midori29
I have to disagree with you a little bit. there are actually whites ,who come from South Africa and various other places in Africa who identify as African Americans. They even had the nerve to go out to African-American scholarships
@fuzzybear
I remember Chris Rock calling Charlize Theron “African-American” on SNL
Not true always. Benjamin Jealous the former president and CEO of the NAACP is mostly European genetically but is still considered “black”.

@andrew
Yeah I remember that , but she doesn’t call herself African American
Johnny is African American and native also… he obviously is more than African decent. Over years it has been rumored of native ancestry.
