Jenny-May Clarkson is a New Zealand netball player, and vice-captain of the New Zealand national netball team. She is the daughter of Te Waka Coffin and Patricia Myfanwy “Paddy” Davis. She is affiliated with the Ngāti Waiora sub-tribe of Ngāti Maniapoto. Jenny-May is married to Dean Clarkson, with whom she has two children.
Jenny-May’s paternal grandfather was Charles “Charlie” Taare Kawhena Coffin (the son of Charles Samuel Coffin and Ngareta Waiora). Jenny-May’s great-grandfather Charles was the son of an American whaler from Nantucket Island, Alexander Thomas Coffin, and of Caroline Henrietta Bathurst, who came from Greenwich, England. Through her paternal line, Jenny-May is a descendant of Tristram Coffin, who was born, c. 1609, in Devon, England, and was the patriarch of the Coffin whaling family in Nantucket.
Jenny-May’s paternal grandmother was named Harata Rauputu.
