Emma Răducanu is a British and Canadian professional tennis player. She has a career-high ranking of No. 10 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). She was also British No. 1. At the 2021 US Open, she became the first singles qualifier in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam title.

Her father, Ian/Ion Răducanu, is from Bucharest, Romania. Her mother, Renee Zhai (Dongmei), is Chinese, from Shenyang. Her family moved to London, England, when she was two, and she represents the U.K. She has Canadian and U.K. citizenship. Emma speaks fluet Mandarin, and very good Romanian.

Emma’s paternal grandmother is named Niculina.

Emma’s maternal grandfather’s surname is Zai.
