Dee Wallace is an American actress. A prominent scream queen, she has starred in the films The Hills Have Eyes (1977), The Howling (1981), E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Cujo, Critters, The Frighteners, Rob Zombie’s Halloween (2007), The House of the Devil, The Lords of Salem, and Critters Attack! She has also been billed as Dee Wallace-Stone.

Dee is the daughter of Dorothy Maxine, a secretary, as well as stage actress and producer; and Robert Stanley Bowers. She was married to actor and Cujo co-star Christopher Stone, until his death. The couple has a daughter, actress and dancer Gabrielle Stone. Her surname is from her first husband Barry Wallace.

Dee’s paternal grandfather was John Harrison “Harry” Bowers (the son of Josiah Robert Bowers and Hattie/Harriett Maria/Marie Cole). John was born in Marysville, Kansas. Josiah was the son of John C. Bowers and Margaret Wright. Hattie was the daughter of Horace Cole and Mary Jane Holcomb.

Dee’s paternal grandmother was Vesta Viola “Betty/Bessie” VanCleave (the daughter of William Stanley VanCleave/Van Cleave and Ida May/Mae Smith). Vesta was born in Oskaloosa, Kansas. William was the son of Peter Cameron Van Cleave/Vancleave, who was said to have been killed by his pet bull, “Adrian;” and of Mary Louise King. Ida was the daughter of James E. Smith and Nancy Jane Morrison.

Dee’s maternal grandfather was Clinton Wakefield “Clint” Nichols (the son of Robert Franklin “Frank” Nichols and Alma/Ama/Amy Perilla Galyean). Clinton was born in Arkansas. Robert was the son of Thomas W. Nichols and Adeline Lucinda Coffman. Ama was the daughter of Shadrach Noah Galyean and Edna Rutha K. Lowe.

Dee’s maternal grandmother was Grace Annis Gwartney (the daughter of James Gwartney and Laura Ann “Boggs” Hassel). Grace was born in Hiwasse, Arkansas.
