David’s maternal grandfather was Menachem Mendel “Menek” Grossman (the son of Wolf Zev Grossman and Feiga/Faiga Hershkowitz). Menachem was born in Łódź, Łódź Voivodeship, Poland. Wolf was the son of Fievel Grossman and Rivka Frucht. Feiga was the daughter of Mendel Hershkowitz and Chaya Rachel Kirshenbaum.

David’s maternal grandmother was named Sara Weil-Grossman (the daughter of Schmuel Chaim Weil and Kayla Mirla Balsam). David’s grandmother Sara was born in Lódz. She survived the Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps.
