David Alan Grier is an American actor and comedian. His roles include the shows Damon, Life with Bonnie, The Carmichael Show, and A Series of Unfortunate Events, and the films Streamers, A Soldier’s Story, In the Army Now, Blankman, Tales from the Hood, Jumanji, Stuart Little, Return to Me, Baadasssss!, Bewitched, Dance Flick, and Native Son.
He is the son of Aretas, a school teacher, and William Henry Grier, a psychiatrist and writer. His father co-published the book Black Rage, in 1968. He has a daughter with his former wife, contemporary art curator Christine Y. Kim.
