Daniel Di Tomasso is a Canadian actor. He has appeared on the shows Witches of East End, Major Crimes, Chicago Fire, and Dynasty and in the films Blood is Blood and French Exit.

He is married to photographer and artist Kei Moreno, with whom he has one child.

He has stated:

I’m Italian-Canadian. Three of my grandparents are Italian. […] My grandmother was born in Italy and two of my grandparents, their parents were born in Italy.

Daniel’s paternal grandfather was Erminio Domenico “Tommy” di Tomasso (the son of Michele di Tomasso/di Tommaso and Giovannina Ciocca). Erminio was born in Ontario. Michele was born in Sulmona, province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy. Giovannina likely was born in Ontario, and was of Italian descent.

Daniel’s paternal grandmother was Catherine Louise Van Tuyl (the daughter of Louis Gleeson/Gleason Van Tuyl and Catherine Hughes). Daniel’s grandmother Catherine was born in Ontario. Louis was born in Ontario, to U.S.-born parents, Benjamin Stoddard Van Tuyl and Kate Van Cheney. Daniel’s great-grandmother Catherine was born in Ontario, the daughter of James Hughes, whose parents were Irish, and of Julia Thomas.

Daniel’s maternal grandfather was named Alceo “Albert” Tontini (likely the son of Giuseppe Tontini and Angelina Gabbucci). Alceo likely was born in Canada, to Italian parents, who were from the province of Pesaro and Urbino, Marche. Giuseppe was the son of Angelo Tontini and Costanza Gattoni.

Daniel’s maternal grandmother was named Anna Maria “Mary” Saudelli. Anna was also born in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, Marche, Italy.
