Bob Fosse was an American choreographer, dancer, actor, and film and stage director. He won the Academy Award for Best Director for Cabaret (1972).
Bob was the son of Sarah Alice and Cyril Kingsley Fosse. He was married to actress and dancer Gwen Verdon, until his death. The couple had a daughter, actress and dancer Nicole Fosse.
Bob’s paternal grandfather was Isaac/Isak Lars/Larsen Fosse (the son of Lars Andersen Fosse and Anna Olsdatter Bolstad). Isaac was born in Norway. Lars was born in Voss, Hordaland.
