Amber’s paternal grandfather possibly was Francis/Frank Joseph Levonchuck (the son of Philip K. Leonchuk/Levonchuck and Pauline Tarnowski). Francis was born in Pennsylvania, to Polish parents.

Amber’s paternal grandmother possibly was Rose Spera (the daughter of Enrico Romeo/Roma Spera/Sperie and Rose Montone). Rose was born in Pennsylvania. Enrico was the son of Italian parents, John Spera/Sperie and Elizabeth. Rose was also the daughter of Italian parents, Joseph Montone/Montani and Susana Passwell/Pasquale/Dipasquale.

Amber’s maternal grandfather was Anthony J. “Sonny” Rose (who likely was the son of Theodore “Teddy” Rose and Lillian Santos). Anthony was born in Pennsylvania, to parents who were born on Brava, Cape Verde, and were black Cape Verdeans. Theodore was the son of Jose Rose and Josephine. Lillian was the daughter of Manuel Santos and Annie.

This woman could be any black girl in the Caribbean. As a West Indian we live with many different racial mixtures on our island. Trust me she would be considered a fair skinned ‘black’ girl with a blond ‘fro. Mixed blood is part of our island heritage – so get over it people. Why does everyone want to run from their African heritage when it is so clear that black blood is coursing through her veins and that of many other celebs in your country.

  2. hello! says:

Uhm.. How does she not look substantially black. Because she’s attractive? Her features are VERY typical of mixed race (biracial women). Alicia Keys has similar features but doesnt dye her hair blonde. It’s rather annoying that so few people realize what a biracial person generally LOOKS like. Everyone is constantly comparing us to their idea of what a Latina looks like. Biracial women don’t look like your typical Latina. The so called Latina’s we are always compared to are just biracial women in Latin America (Adriana Lima, Christina Milian to name a few). GThey are mixed race women; not “typical” latinas EXCEPT for places like Brazil and Cuba where the PEOPLE ARE mostly mixed! Do you guys not know your history? Most biracial women are NOT going to look like your typical black woman because (hello!) they have half of their gene pool coming from Europe. Duh! What the heck do you expect us to look like? Maybe if you paid attention to WHO is biracial, you’d see a pattern and know the classic features when theyre in front of you. There’s quite a range among us since the “white race” is an illusion and your half Italian/Half black will look very different than your half Irish Half black. Also theres a vast range of how black each black person is. A lot of biracial women (Like rashida Jones) are actually less than half black because her dad is really not as black as most African Americans. Still there are certain features that are almost always universal to mixed race women. We are what people have stereotyped every single woman in latin america to look like. And that is a fallacious illusion!

Being pretty or not has nothing to do with it, she still doesn’t look “black”, not even half way there. She looks MAINLY European, even with her natural brown hair (if she grew it out). She’d fit in Italy, Spain or Greece with ease and not stick out at all. But put her in Zimbabwe or any random West or Central African country and she’d be stared at as an outsider in a split second.

Her features are VERY typical of European peoples, especially in southern Europe. I’m sorry if that doesn’t go along with what you’ve been taught to think. Go travel there and see for yourself. ;-)

      • ashley says:

Regardless if she looks mainly European she is not she is mixed . Black and White children can come out looking like anything. I mean I know some birracial children look lkethey dont have any white in them at all. On the other hand you have birracial children that look like they are basically white. Her features to me are mixed to me she looks more black than white . I mean some people say Latina hello latinos are majority mixed people ; they just speak spanish thats i thats all. What you fail to realize that Southern Europe are of African Descent like it or not back than I guess it was not a big deal .

  3. Someone says:

I think she’s lying. She doesn’t look half Black at all. If anything she looks like a Latina. I hate people who lie about their heritage to make themselves seem “exotic”.

    • STeVe says:

There’s no one look for “Latina”. That’s more of a fallacious label the American government and media and culture has put on anyone from Mexico, Central America or South America. So many different looks in those places, no one looks all the same down there.

This woman’s face shows mainly “Caucasoid” features. Her “Cape Verdean” ancestry must have been mainly European descent originally, with maybe a small bit of actual Sub Saharan African DNA mixed in. As the article itself says many Europeans are mixed with them over there.

Looks don’t always tell ‘the story’, but that’s all I’m going on for now since there’s no DNA test results she’s given to the public as far as I know.

She’d fit in Europe quite nicely and no one would suspect her of being non-European just by her facial features alone, imo.

      • oh no”! ! “ That’s NOT more of a fallacious label the American government”’..LOL! ! ! it s because most of you ameericans are ignorant -YOU donno sh1t of world cultures !:)) and also because msot of ”latin americans’ who get to america are indios(native west indians of those countries) or mesztizos(mixed west indian-white-black) but mostly of west indian heritage..so most of latinamericans from u.s. are kind of dark or mongoloid featured ppl.

      • ashley says:

There are lot of africans in cape verde . What is up people she is black and she will fit n Africa quite nicely especially here n ohio . I am sorry thats why she is mixed , blacks have those same features only thing some of us are darker than what she i . what is the deal is she to pretty to half black i in her why are all the white people tripping on here.

    • ashley says:

It obvious that your not black nor Latino . Latinos are mixed with African and European history . I hate when people say someone that is mixed i looks Latino ummmmmm dont you mean latinos look mixed the only difference in seperating them is the language and culture . Why wouldnt she look black she is no prettier than Beyonce

  4. T says:

She does look Black or mixed. However, She is half Cabo Verde(Cape Verde,Africa), a quarter Italian and quarter Irish. In Cape Verde, there a lots of people of mixed heritage themselves, who may or may not consider themselves African, Portuguese, or other European decent. If she is which can be likely, she would be more of a European majority mix.

  5. metusa says:

Well if she calls herself a white girl in the interview then that is what she is..But in the interview she says half Cape Verdan half Italian it does not say Irish though,

    • ashley says:

She did not call herself white lol .

      • metusa says:

Can you read ashley the link was posted on the top of this page where she states she went to an all black girl school where she was the only” white girl”the girls there said she was adopted because her mom was dark and she was so “white” so yes she did call herself white.let me guess what your usual come back going to be she just a light skinned black or she was just not as black as them girls.well clearly them black girls did not see her as black and one of them so they picked on her.lolhttp://www.hollywoodgrind.com/amber-rose-in-smooth-magazine/
