Charlamagne tha God, or Charlamagne, is an American radio host, television personality, and comedian. He co-hosts syndicated radio show The Breakfast Club, with DJ Envy; and was the host of the shows Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne, from 2015 to 2017, and Hell of a Week with Charlamagne tha God, on Comedy Central from 2021 to 2022. He also appeared regularly on The Wendy Williams Experience with Wendy Williams, as a second mic; Guy Code, Girl Code, Guy Court, and, as a VJ, on video block The Week in Jams. He founded the Black Effect Podcast Network.
His family were Jehovah’s Witnesses. His father, Larry Thomas McKelvey, later converted to Islam. He was raised partly in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Charlamagne is married to Jessica Gadsden, with whom he has four children.
Charlamagne is said to be a cousin of actresses and singers Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey.
