Janet Jagan is a Guyanese politician. She served as President of Guyana, from 19 December, 1997 to 11 August, 1999.

Janet was the daughter of Katherine (Kronberg) and Charles Brown Rosenberg. She was married to politician Cheddi Jagan, who served as President of Guyana, from 9 October, 1992 to 6 March, 1997. She has a son, politician Joey Jagan, with Cheddi.

Janet’s paternal grandfather was Joseph Rosenberg (the son of Herman Rosenberg and Jennett Moses). Joseph was born in Missouri, to Polish Jewish parents.

Janet’s paternal grandmother was Rosa Brown (the daughter of Charles Brown and Henrietta). Rosa was born in New York, to a Polish Jewish father and a German Jewish mother.

Janet’s maternal grandfather was Adolph Kronberg (the son of Leo Kronberg and Pearl Landish Green). Adolph was born in Romania.

Janet’s maternal grandmother was Rosa Applebaum (the daughter of Morris Applebaum and Johanna Klein). Rosa was born in Hungary.
