Andy Reid is an American professional football coach. He has been head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013. He was previously assistant coach of the Green Bay Packers, from 1992 to 1998, and head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, from 1999 to 2012.

Andy is the son of Emma Elizabeth and Walter William Reid. His paternal grandparents were Scottish, from Aberdeenshire. His mother is of half Swedish and German ancestry. Andy is married, and has had five children, including professional football coach Britt Reid. Andy is a member of the LDS (Mormon) church.

Andy’s patrilineal line can be traced to his third-great-grandfather James Reid, who was born, c. 1757, in Glenbuchat, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Andy’s paternal grandfather was John Reid (the son of John Reid and Catherine Farquharson). Andy’s grandfather John was born in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Adolf was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to Swedish parents. John was born in Härnösand, Västernorrland, the son of Erik Michael Naslund and Katharina Elisabet Ahlquist. Andy’s maternal grandmother was Helen Mary Miller (the daughter of Peter Müller/Miller and Helena Madaline Rice). Andy’s grandmother Helen was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Peter was born in Adelsdorf, Bavaria, Germany, the son of Sebastian Müller, from Merching, and of Barbara Nagensgast.
