Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum was an Emirati royal.

He was the eldest son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Saeed bin Maktoum bin Hasher bin Maktoum bin Butti bin Suhail), of the House of Al Maktoum, and Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Al Maktoum. His father has been Ruler of Dubai, since 4 January, 2006, as well as, Minister of Defence, since 9 December, 1971, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, since 5 January, 2006, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, since 11 February, 2006, and President of the United Arab Emirates, from 13 May, 2022 to 14 May, 2022.

He was of the House of Al Falasi.

Rashid’s paternal grandfather was Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum (the son of Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum and Sheikha Hessa bint Al Murr). Rashid’s grandfather Sheikh Rashid was born in Dubai, Trucial States, and was Ruler of Dubai, from 10 September, 1958 to 7 October, 1990, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, from 2 December, 1971 to 7 October, 1990, and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, from 25 April, 1979 to 7 October, 1990. Rashid’s great-grandfather Sheikh Saeed was Emir of Dubai, from 1912 to 1958, and was the son of Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum, who was Ruler of Dubai, from 1894 to 1906. Rashid’s great-grandmother Sheikha Hessa was the daughter of Sheikh Al Murr.

Rashid’s paternal grandmother was Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan Al Nahyan (the daughter of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikha Shamsa bint Obaid bin Mejren). Sheikh Hamdan was the son of Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. Sheikha Shamsa was the daughter of Sheikh Obaid bin Mejren.

Rashid’s maternal grandfather was Sheikh Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum (the son of Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum and Madyah bint Mijren). Sheikh Juma was the son of Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum, who was Ruler of Dubai, from 1894 to 1906.

Rashid’s maternal grandmother was Sheikha Shaikha bint Saeed Al Maktoum (the daughter of Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum). Rashid’s great-grandfather Sheikh Saeed was Emir of Dubai, from 1912 to 1958, and was the son of Sheikh Maktoum bin Hasher Al Maktoum.

Rashid’s parents are first cousins, as were his maternal grandparents.
