Harry Nilsson was an American singer and songwriter. He was also known as Nilsson.

He was the son of Elizabeth “Bette” and Harry Edward Nilsson. He was married to Una O’Keeffe, until his death. He had a son with his former wife Diane Clatworthy; and six children with Una.

Harry’s paternal grandfather was Charles Harry Nilsson (the son of Carl Emmanuel Nilsson and Augusta Wilhelmine “Adele” Rolle). Charles was born in Manhattan, New York, to a Swedish father and a German mother. Carl created the act, “aerial ballet.”

Harry’s paternal grandmother was Beatrice Robb (the daughter of Joseph Robb and Ada Wynne). Beatrice was born in New York. Joseph was an English immigrant. Ada was born in Missouri.

Harry’s maternal grandfather was Charles Augustus “Charlie” Martin (the son of John P. Martin and Mary E. “Mollie” Sherman). Charles was born in New York. John was the son of a Scottish father and an Irish mother. Mary was the daughter of Mary, whose parents were Irish.
