Willie McCovey was an American professional baseball player. A first baseman, he played for the San Francisco Giants, the San Diego Padres, and the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame as a Giant. He was nicknamed “Stretch” and “Willie Mac.”

Willie was the son of Esther and Frank McCovey, a railroad worker. He was married to Estela Bejar, until his death. He had a daughter with his former wife Karen.
