Mary Lee Woods was an English mathematician and computer scientist. She worked on the team that developed programs in the School of Computer Science, University of Manchester Mark 1, Ferranti Mark 1, and Mark 1 Star computers.
Mary Lee was the daughter of Ida Frances Lee (Burrows) and Bertie John Woods. She was married to mathematician Conway Berners-Lee, until her death, with whom she had four children, including engineer and computer scientist Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the World Wide Web, and researcher and writer on greenhouse gases Mike Berners-Lee.
