Simone Manuel is an American professional swimmer. She specializes in freestyle events. She won two gold and two silver medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and a bronze medal as the anchor of the American 4×100-meter freestyle relay team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was the first African-American woman to win an individual gold medal in swimming. She is 5′10″.
Simone is the daughter of Sharron Griffin and Marc Manuel. She has been vocal about the issue of police brutality against the African-American community.
