Maureen Lipman is a British actress, writer, and comedian.

She is the daughter of Zelma and Maurice Lipman, a tailor who owned a shop. She has two children, playwright Amy Rosenthal and writer Adam Rosenthal, with her late husband, dramatist Jack Rosenthal, to whom she was married until his death.

Maureen’s paternal grandfather was named Hyman Simon Lipman.

Maureen’s paternal grandmother was Sarah Greenbaum (the daughter of Philip Greenbaum and Annie Lazzerson).

Maureen’s maternal grandfather was named Philip/Phil Pearlman (the son of Zalman/Solomon Pearlman and Channa Fanny). Philip was born in London, to Latvian Jewish parents. Zalman was the son of Dovid Pearlman and Hannah. Channa was born in Daugavpils.
