Laine Hardy is an American singer. He won the seventeenth season of the show American Idol (in 2019). See other American Idol winners here. He is the first winner of Asian ancestry, and the first winner to have been born in the 2000s.

Laine’s paternal grandfather is Glancia Hardy (the son of Jessie B. Hardy and Elvie Taylor). Glancia was born in Louisiana. Jessie was born in Louisiana, the son of John Herbert Hardy and Mary Averett. Elvie was born in Louisiana, the daughter of Annie.

Laine’s paternal grandmother is Joyce Hill (the daughter of Jessie/Jesse F. Hill and Evelyn/Evaline Ann Willie). Joyce was born in Louisiana. Jessie was born in Louisiana. Evelyn was born in Louisiana, the daughter of Lenard Willie, whose father was English, and of Myra.
