Kelly Loeffler is an American politician and businessperson. A Republican, she served as a U.S. Senator from Georgia, from January 6, 2020 to January 20, 2021.

Kelly is the daughter of Lynda and Don Loeffler. She was raised on her wealthy family’s corn and soybean farm in Stanford, Illinois. Kelly is married to businessperson Jeffrey Sprecher, who is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange, and chairman of the New York Stock Exchange.

Kelly’s paternal grandfather was Alfred Herman Loeffler (the son of Aloysius Loeffler and Gertrude Emma Schrader). Alfred was born in Missouri, and was of German descent. Aloysius was the son of Henry Loeffler and Josephine Schneider. Gertrude was the daughter of Joseph Frederick Schrader and Anna Peine.

Kelly’s paternal grandmother was Mildred Rose Koehn (the daughter of Paul Fredrick Koehn and Mary Ellen Leichtenberg). Mildred was born in Illinois. Paul was the son of Ferdinand W. Koehn. Mary Ellen was of mostly Dutch descent, the daughter of August Thomas Leichtenberg and Prudentia Sophia Bernadine Scherbeijn.

Kelly’s maternal grandmother was Ruth Linell Haynes (the daughter of Fletcher Roy Haynes and Veda Ardith Hay). Ruth was born in Texas. Fletcher was the son of Benjiman Franklin Haynes and Mattie Elizabeth Jackson. Veda was the daughter of James Joel Hay and Ora Anna Williams.
