Jordan Bardella is a French politician. He has been President of National Rally, since 5 November, 2022, as well as a Member of the European Parliament, from 2 July, 2019. He was previously Spokesman of the National Rally, from 21 September, 2017 to 16 June, 2019, National Director of Génération Nation, from 12 March, 2018 to 4 July, 2021, and Vice President of the National Rally, from 16 June, 2019 to 5 November, 2022.
He is the son of Luisa, a nursery school agent, and Olivier Bardella, a business owner, specializing in vending machines. His mother was born in Italy. Three of Jordan’s grandparents were Italian immigrants; his Italian roots lie in Lazio, Emilia-Romagna, Molise, and Liguria. His paternal grandmother was the daughter of an Algerian father; and of a French mother, who herself was of three quarters French, and one quarters Alsatian German, descent.
Jordan was raised in a local council tower block in Drancy.
Jordan’s paternal grandfather was Guérrino Italo Bardella (the son of Carmine Bardella and Maria Iannitelli). Guérrino was born in Alvito, Frosinone, Lazio, Italy. He moved to France c. 1960, and years later settled in Casablanca, Morocco.
Jordan’s paternal grandmother was Réjane Mada (the daughter of Mohand Seghir Mada and Denise Annette Jaeck). Rejane was born in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, Seine-et-Marne, Ile-de-France, France. Jordan’s great-grandfather Mohand was born in Ait Rizine, Béjaïa, Algeria, and came to France in the 1930s as a construction labourer. He was the son of Tahar Mada and Dahbia Mada. Jordan’s great-grandmother Denise was born in Paris, France, the daughter of Marcel Georges Jaeck, who was of half Alsatian German, from Hégenheim, Haut-Rhin, and half French, from Marne, Champagne-Ardenne, descent; and of Marie Augustine Annette Garmigny, who was of French origin, and was born in Saâcy-sur-Marne, Seine-et-Marne, Ile-de-France.
Jordan’s maternal grandfather was Severino Bertelli-Motta (the son of Antonio Bertelli-Motta and Ines Libera Stoppa). Severino was born in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Ines was born in Codigoro, Ferrara.
Jordan’s maternal grandmother was Iolanda Benedetto (the daughter of Pasquale Benedetto and Maria Antenucci). Pasquale was born in Guglionesi, Campobasso, Molise. Maria was born in Aquila d’Arroscia, Imperia, Liguria.
