Harold Russell was a Canadian-American World War II veteran and actor. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Best Years of Our Lives (1946).
Harold was the son of Gertrude Mary Arlett (Croucher) and Harold John Russell. His parents were from Newfoundland. He moved with his family to Massachusetts in 1921. He was married to Rita Russell-Nixon, until her death, and then to Betty Marshalsea, until his death.
